Initally attending the University of Windsor's School of Dramatic Art as a Costume and Set design major I soon found that this shy guy who spent years showing horses and dreaming of competing for Canada on the International stage was really destined to be on a different stage. While I continued to study design for the theatre I expanded my interests into dance, voice and acting. After completing my studies and moving to Toronto I have had a successful performance career which included; musical theatre, dinner theatre, television, film, commercials, corporate events and cruise ships.
During my two years as Artistic Director of the Valley Theatre at Cullen Gardens my shows proved to be very popular with attendance increasing each year. The revamping of the Entertainment Department proved to be time and energy well spent. Seven new productions received enthusastic reponses and much praise from those in attendance.
In 2001 while based in Toronto I formed JBMentertainment. Toronto clients included; Primetime Events, University Scholarship Consultants, Pharmacia Inc., Tribute Communities and a long association with the Miss Canada Continental Pageant where I won three awards in Chicago for my production numbers.
In 2006 I returned to my hometown of Fergus to create the Fergus Theatre Festival. 2006 saw three performances, a fund-raising event in March, our inaugural production of I Do! I Do! in June and our hugely successful Christmas show, Holiday Sparkle!
In September of 2007 a new department was added to JBMentertainment.
JBMtalent is a new talent agency based in South Western Ontario but with close ties to the action in Toronto aswell as both the west and east coasts.
In 2009 I became the Dance and Drama Instructor for the new Arts Program at Wellington Hall Academy, a Private School in Guelph. In 2010 I added Choir Director to my list of classes. On top of teaching, I am responsible for both Christmas and End of Year Productions aswell as organizing school field trips to expose our students to all forms of the Performing Arts.
Whether performing, designing, choreographing, directing, guest teaching or adjudicating competitions, my twenty-five years in the entertainment industry allows me to bring an incredible wealth of knowledge, talent and energy to every project.
